Woohoo! I'm on the cover of the UGA PreMed magazine, a magazine for pre-medical students at the University of Georgia. Check it out and read the article:
Salaam Hammad! I've stumbled upon your blog after reading about you in emel magazine. Seeing what extreme hardship you had to go through just to actualize your dream makes me realize, as a pre-med student, how critical challenges are for our well-being, and those who don't give up--like you--are heroes for it. May Allah (SWT) bless you and your family and make you not only an inspirational doctor, but an excellent one as well!
I am a physician board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and Stanford fellowship trained in spinal cord injury medicine. I was in an automobile accident with my family on May 23, 2009 that caused, among other things, a traumatic brain injury, a C5 brachial plexus injury and a T2 complete spinal cord injury. That's not going to hold me back in accomplishing my dreams.
